Yangkou economic zone to improve water treatment
The Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone and Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited recently signed a strategic business agreement. The two sides will cooperate on the expansion of sewage treatment plants, the reuse of reclaimed water, and investment in industrial water projects.
The Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, located in Rudong county, Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, is a national-level open port zone that mainly handles energy imports and downstream petroleum products.
Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited (BEWG), the biggest urban investment, construction and operation service provider in China, is devoted to the recycling of water resources and the protection of water ecology. It ranks first in China in terms of water treatment capacity.
According to the agreement, BEWG will be in charge of water treatment facilities for the Jinguang and Tongkun projects underway in the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone. It will also help optimize the utilization of water resources and improve the water environment in the zone.
In addition, BEWG will provide capital and technology support for improving infrastructure in the zone.
Cai Dong, Party secretary of the Rudong Yangkou Economic Development Zone and Zhang Tiefu, vice chairman of Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited, signed a cooperation agreement.
