Rudong county in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province plans to establish an intelligent senior care center after New Year's Day in order to provide better services to low-income seniors and seniors who can't look after themselves.
An "intelligent" senior care center is a center that provides more convenient and efficient services for the elderly, both online and offline, with the help of modern technology.
The new center, covering an area of 400 square meters, provides the elderly with services for bathing, cleaning, emergency treatment, safety, and more. Free home nursing services are also expected to be offered.
If a senior needs help or has an emergency, he/she can call the online service platform and will receive a quick response, according to the manager of the service center.
The center will provide free equipment for seniors who are over 90 years old, have a low income, or are unable to take care of themselves, said Tang Jiedong, deputy director of Rudong's department of civil affairs.
The health conditions of seniors who receive services such as blood pressure or blood sugar tests at the center will be recorded.
