Nantong food company gets busy producing qingtuan
Workers at the Nantong Mattisu Food Co are currently busy making qingtuan, or green rice balls, due to the increasing market demand around the Qingming Festival.
The traditional snack is widely consumed in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River region during this period. However, every region has its own unique way of making the snack.
The company has adopted some modern techniques and produces both traditional and new flavors to cater to both seniors and young people.
It uses green wheat seedlings and glutinous rice to make the balls and provides an array of fillings, including sweet red bean paste, sesame, peanuts, salted york with dried meat floss, and cream cheese.
But Nantong locals prefer to make the snack using more traditional methods. Check out the video above to see how it's done!
