Jiangsu Hanvo Safety Product Co Ltd, based in the Rudong Economic Development Zone in Rudong county, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, went public on the growth enterprise market (GEM) on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in South China's Guangdong province on March 11.

On Nov 24, Jiangsu Haili Wind Power Equipment Technology Co Ltd was listed on the GEM board too, marking a big step forward for the Rudong Economic Development Zone toward the capital market.

"The Rudong Economic Development Zone has been home to three listed companies thus far, accounting for half of the county's total, which is the result of our focus on the high-end equipment manufacturing, electronic information and new materials industries," said Shao Feng, secretary of the Party working committee of the Rudong Economic Development Zone.

Jiangsu Hanvo Safety Product used to stay in the old factory building, which blocked capacity expansion. In a situation where land is extremely scarce, the development zone went to great lengths to transfer some 4.7 hectares of land used by discontinued enterprises, to fulfill Hanvo's dream of establishing a joint venture with American businessmen. Receiving investment valued at $25 million, a new Hengmai safety product project was launched. Last year, Hanvo Safety Product sold more than 150 million pairs of gloves worth 820 million yuan.

Nantong Hanvo New Material Technology Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hanvo Safety Product, produces high-strength and high-modulus polyethylene fiber, which is transferred to the workshops of Hanvo Safety Product and other companies to produce high performance anti-cutting gloves.

To promote the landing of Hanvo New Material Technology, the Rudong Economic Development Zone transferred 6.7 more ha of land to the company. Now, Hanvo Safety Product has an increasingly long product chain and has formed different series that are comfortable and breathable, anti-cutting, anti-cold, anti-oil, waterproof, offer thermal insulation, and are anti-corrosion and sells its products to more than 50 countries and regions.
