Coming out of the north gate of Nantong Museum, following the scent of osmanthus, and strolling gently along the moat, you will soon arrive at Haoyang Residence, a former residence of Chinese industrial pioneer Zhang Jian (1853-1926).

This is a traditional Chinese-style courtyard that features a front and rear hall. It consists of a two-story building and multiple small courtyards, resembling a beautiful Chinese ink painting with green tiles and white walls. Here, you can find a quiet corner, savor tea, or leisurely walk around, enjoying a leisurely and contented time.

Coming out of Haoyang Residence, crossing the bustling Nanda Street, you will see one of Nantong's landmark buildings – the Bell Tower Square. The red brick-made bell tower towers into the sky, with the musical sound of the bell, as if narrating the history and changes of Nantong. As night falls, the Bell Tower Square lights up, adding a touch of modern vitality and charm to this city.
