The Rudong Economic Development Zone is home to 60 companies in the automotive parts and new energy sectors, generating more than 10 billion yuan ($1.36 billion) in annual taxable sales.

In recent years, price wars and lengthy payment cycles have strained profitability and cash flow for businesses in the zone. To address these challenges, the zone is building a cooperative platform to strengthen the supply chain, reduce costs, and foster collaborative industrial development. By organizing upstream and downstream companies, Rudong is creating a shared procurement and technical collaboration system, aiming to establish a more open, innovative, and competitive industrial ecosystem.

Teng Guojing, chairman of Jiangsu Nate New Energy Vehicle Connection Systems, praised the zone's unique advantages, highlighting its status as Nantong's only surface treatment center approved by the provincial environmental department, making it an essential facility for industry growth.

Nate NEV Connection Systems, a subsidiary of Shanghai Nate Automotive Fastener, invested 500 million yuan in 2021 to acquire 8 hectares of idle factory space in the zone. The company established automated, intelligent production lines to build a "dark factory" specializing in lightweight automotive parts. Its high-tech fasteners, known for their consistent lack of any defects, serve traditional and new energy vehicle manufacturers across the Yangtze River Delta.

By fostering innovation and collaboration, the Rudong Economic Development Zone is solidifying its position as a hub for advanced manufacturing and new energy development.
