During the Chinese New Year holiday, many businesses in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, continued operations to meet demand and support local economic growth.

A total of 258 companies in the district arranged shifts during the holiday, accounting for 29.1 percent of all businesses, a 2.9 percent increase compared to last year. The average production capacity utilization rate for industrial companies in Haimen reached 48.6 percent.

Haimen Huhai Nonferrous Casting Co Ltd was among those working through the holiday. The company's general manager, Zhai Feng, shared that by the seventh day of the holiday, all 390 employees had returned to work.

Zhai also mentioned that last year, the company achieved record-high sales and taxes. In January, the company's sales exceeded 30 million yuan ($4.11 million), with customer orders already extending into next year. The company expects to maintain its double-digit growth throughout the year.
