From Feb 9 to 11, the Rudong Youth Acrobatic Troupe staged its mesmerizing large-scale magical acrobatic drama Xiaohai's Dream Quest at Sea at Gengsu Theatre in Nantong. The five consecutive performances captivated local audiences with a breathtaking fusion of visual spectacle and emotional depth. The production is now set to embark on a nationwide tour.

Inspired by the lives of Rudong's fishermen, the play highlights the theme of marine ecological protection, telling the heartfelt story of a young boy, Xiaohai, who bravely rescues sea creatures. Utilizing cutting-edge lighting, sound, and multimedia technology, the performance immerses viewers in a vivid oceanic adventure. The acrobats' graceful yet powerful movements, combined with awe-inspiring stunts, brought the characters to life, delivering a compelling narrative filled with rich emotions.

Zhou Wangdong, chairman of Nantong Acrobatic Troupe Performing Arts, emphasized the production's cultural significance: "Maritime culture is an essential part of Nantong's regional identity, while Rudong acrobatics is one of the city's most iconic cultural brands. By integrating these elements, we aim to create a production that not only aligns with contemporary themes but also promotes Nantong's artistic heritage."

During the Chinese New Year holiday, the play was featured on Mexico's mainstream Channel 22 as part of the 2025 Chinese New Year Special, recommended by the Chinese embassy in Mexico. This international showcase deepened Mexican audiences' appreciation for Chinese New Year traditions and artistic excellence.
