Tongzhou company leads in energy efficiency
As a fully-owned subsidiary of Fortune Global 500 company Hengli Group, Jiangsu Hengke New Material in Wujie town, Tongzhou district, Nantong, has been featured on the list of enterprises recognized as Energy Efficiency "Leaders" in key energy-consuming industries for 2025. It is the only company in the polyester filament yarn sub-sector included on the list.
In recent years, the company has made concerted efforts in multiple aspects on green and low-carbon development and yielded fruitful achievements.
Hengke New Material has built a photovoltaic power generation project with a total capacity of 106.5 megawatts, generating over 100 million kilowatt-hours annually. It is also equipped with energy storage systems of 60 MW/120 MWh, creating an integrated "photovoltaic-storage-charging" model.
Additionally, its heat medium heaters adopt biomass pellet fuel, realizing a renewable energy utilization ratio exceeding 40 percent throughout the year.
A full-process water reuse system is used, achieving 100-percent collection, treatment, and reuse of workshop wastewater, with a reuse rate surpassing 90 percent, saving over 2.5 million tons of water annually. The company has been recognized as a provincial water-saving enterprise and a provincial advanced water use efficiency enterprise.
Introducing an energy performance contracting model, it has been renovating key energy-consuming units such as refrigeration plants. Through the adaptive adjustment of operating parameters, overall energy efficiency has been significantly improved. It is expected to save over 10 million yuan ($1.43 million) in annual operating costs.
