Blue calico is traditional Han craft printing and dyeing product. Nantong blue calico is known for its printing and dyeing techniques and its bright and harmonious designs. The calico is widely used in daily life and art crafts and is totally dyed by hand. Its patterns mostly depict plants, flowers and animals, expressing people's pursuit of a better life.

Woodblock Printing
Woodblock printing is a type of traditional painting that people across China hang on doors, windows and walls to ward off evil spirits and express good wishes.
Woodblock printing originated in the Han dynasty (206 BC-220), and flourished in the middle and late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). China declared woodblock printing a world intangible cultural heritage in November 2011.
