Ningbo to host Smart City Expo in September

The Eighth China Smart City Technology and Application Products Expo (Smart City Expo) and Global Intelligent Economy Summit will be held in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, from Sept 7 to 9, according to Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Committee.

With a theme of "digital-driven intelligent development", the expo is expected to be a platform for dialogues, business matchmaking, exchanges and cooperation in the intelligent economy sector, with the aim of promoting digital development in China.

This year's expo will display the latest technologies and products in the fields of intelligent economy, smart cities, Made in China 2025 and Internet Plus.

With an exhibition area of 26,000 square meters, it will be divided into five main parts: renowned companies, intelligent manufacturing, smart city applications, artificial intelligence and innovative technologies.

Along with the expo, the Global Intelligent Economy Summit will invite some 100 scholars and entrepreneurs to share insights on development trends in the internet, big data, artificial intelligence and blockchain sectors. After the main summit, there will be several parallel sessions on different topics.

During the summit, Ningbo will hold the 2018 China-Europe Green and Smart City Awards Ceremony and the China-Europe Green and Smart City Summit, as well as a series of innovation and entrepreneurship activities.

The Smart City Expo was China's first key exposition themed on smart cities. After seven years of development, it has grown into a widely known platform for the smart city concept and the promotion of new technologies, products and applications related to the intelligent economy.
