More than 2,000 exhibitors from Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) will take part in in the second China-CEEC Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair slated to start in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on June 8, a local official said.

The four-day event will also gather 6,000-plus domestic professional purchasers, according to Zhang Yan, director of the Ningbo municipal bureau of commerce and deputy head of the China-CEEC Expo organizing committee.

Companies including SPH Engineering, the world's premier software developer and integration services provider for unmanned systems from Latvia, will debut at the expo, while some cutting-edge technological products from CEEC such as aircrafts from Slovenia will be displayed.

Meanwhile, China-CEEC cooperation activities such as the China-CEEC Dialogue on Customs Inspection and Quarantine Cooperation and the China-CEEC Mayors Forum are also scheduled to be held in Ningbo on the sidelines of the expo.

A national level exhibition showcasing China-CEEC cooperation achievements will be staged for the first time as well, according to the organizers.

Ningbo is expected to be designated the place to implement the latest cooperation agreements reached by China and CEEC during the expo.

The event is set to coincide with the 23rd China Zhejiang Investment and Trade Fair, which will also be held in the city.

Ningbo has seen closer economic and trade ties with the CEEC in recent years. In 2020, imports and exports between Ningbo and the CEEC totaled 29.52 billion yuan ($4.54 billion), a yearly uptick of 3.7 percent.
