A folk performing troupe connects with the grassroots living in the grasslands in Ordos.

Public service organizations at different levels in the city are playing an active role in getting residents involved in cultural events, such as art performances, displays of cultural relics and picture exhibitions in Ordos. The city creates more than 1,000 art and literature works each year that are popular with locals, officials said. Some regions including Otog Front Banner and Uxin Banner have formed performance groups featuring traditional instruments such as the horsehead fiddle and traditional dance teams.
