Manhan folk songs have been popular in Jungar Banner since the Qing Dynasty. Local residents still follow the tradition of expressing their feelings by singing Manhan folk songs in their daily lives. 

The Inner Mongolia autonomous region government has been promoting the development of Manhan folk songs since the 1950s, offering training and setting up professional institutes to keep the traditional songs alive.
