Located in the Ejin Horo Banner, it lies at the intersection of the three cities – Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos, and the junction of Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces. The tourist area is about 15 km away from Ordos Airport. It covers 8 square km and was built into a film and television base featuring pastureland civilization and the Mongolian imperial culture during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) with an investment of 5.6 billion yuan ($811 million).
