In recent years, Ordos has dedicated itself to promoting cultural exchanges with foreign and domestic cities with the aim of expanding its influence across the country and the world.

Ordos has established partnership with various domestic cities to foster cultural exchanges. It has forged a brand event, “Ordos culture going national”, which it has hosted for 12 years. During that times, the Ordos culture promotion delegation has visited cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Harbin and Shanghai.

In May, Ordos held Ordos-Xi'an Cultural Week in partnership with the celebrated ancient city. During the week, various activities featuring local artistic performances, a cultural relics exhibition, demonstrations of intangible culture items and tourist promotions helped Xi’an residents to better understand the charm of the city in North China.

As Ordos becomes more popular across the country, it is also promoting itself around the world. In October 2016, Ordos Performance Service Center successfully joined the Silk Road International Theaters Alliance, which now has 88 members from 33 countries and regions.

Ordos has organized cultural delegations to the United States, Russia, Germany, Poland, Austria, Thailand and Mongolia, where their performances have been very well received.

The Ordos Ulan Muqir troupe has played a significant role in promoting cultural exchanges with outside regions and countries.

In 2017, the art troupe performed at the China (Guangzhou) International Performing Arts Fair, presenting unique cultural elements from Inner Mongolia to the world.

In January 2018, the Ulan Muqir troupe from Otog Banner visited Tonghai county, Yuxi city in Yunnan province, to perform for ethnic Mongolians living there. Their popularity was confirmed by the large audiences they attracted.

From Feb 1 to 11, Ordos Ulan Muqir troupes visited Germany and presented wonderful performances with Mongolian characteristics in Berlin, Hamburg and Dusseldorf.

On Feb 15, which marked Chinese New Year’s Eve, Otog Banner Ulan Muqir troupe showcased Inner Mongolia-style dancing at the Chinese Culture Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

From Sep 22 to 29, Ejin Horoo Banner Ulan Muqir troupe was invited to perform in Fiji, during the Fiji-China Inner Mongolia Culture Week.
