Inner Mongolia new media research center and the Mongolian language new media union were set up at Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Dec 5.
The establishment of the new media research center aims to build links between media organizations and the academic community, taking advantage of a partnership with IMNU's School of Journalism and Communication. It also aims to provide intellectual support for the healthy, sustainable and prosperous development of Inner Mongolia's new media industry.
The Mongolian language new media union, which is comprised of over 40 Mongolian language media organizations and bloggers, was launched by IMNU's School of Journalism and Communication. It is expected to improve the range of Mongolian language new media and better serve the region’s social and economic development.
Zhang Baicheng, the head of Inner Mongolia's Cyberspace Administration, said that with the help of IMNU and various media organizations, Inner Mongolia will conduct research into new media, and strive to create popular new media products.
