The city of Ordos won yet another laurel after it was awarded the title “Blue Sky City”, according to a list released by Weather China Online, a weather forecast website affiliated with the China Meteorological Administration, at a press conference on April 18.

So-called blue sky cities are recognized for their general conditions with regards to weather, cloud coverage and air quality.

According to analysis by Weather China Online, Ordos had 71 first-grade blue sky days in 2018, with blue sky days accounting for 61.6 percent of the year. 

The number of days with air quality index below 70 in the city in 2018 reached 253, and the total cloud cover on average was 53.3 percent during the year.
