A promotional conference and signing ceremony for the 2020 new spring and summer cashmere textiles season was held in Dongsheng district in Ordos on Dec 12 -- which saw 113 million yuan ($16.15 million) in supply contracts signed with the district's small and medium cashmere textiles businesses.

Sponsored by the Dongsheng Council for Trade Promotion, the event in the city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the event attracted the participation of over 20 buyers.

They came from Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen as well as e-commerce platforms.

Their activities came on top of the 113 million yuan in contracts signed between buyers and local cashmere textiles businesses.

Dongsheng Council for Trade Promotion and the College of Textile and Light Industry of Inner Mongolia University of Technology also signed cooperation agreements with local small and medium-sized textiles companies.

These involved the joint construction of two off-campus practical facilities and 10 school-enterprise cooperation projects.

Officials said these would further deepen the cooperation between small and medium-sized cashmere textile enterprises and professional universities and major high-quality platforms -- and prompt the employment and entrepreneurship of more college students.

Officials from the Dongsheng Council for Trade Promotion said that small and medium-sized enterprises were the largest and most innovative enterprise groups in China.

The officials said they played an irreplaceable role in promoting economic growth, promoting innovation, increasing tax revenue, promoting employment and improving people's lives.

Dongsheng district is striving to further improve the business environment -- to support these enterprises' better development, they added.
