To cope with travel demands during the summer holidays, Ordos Ejin Horo International Airport -- in Ordos city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- has launched extra flights with discount ticket prices, according to information released by airport operator, Ordos Airport Administration Group Co.
The newly added flights include those connecting Ordos to Handan, Guilin, Fuzhou, Wenzhou and Hailaar. In addition, existing routes have put on more flights -- including those running from Ordos to Xi’an, Dalian, Shanghai and Zhengzhou.
Officials said all the new flights have special air tickets on sale at discounts of 70-90 percent. Among them, tickets from Ordos to Wuhan, Fuyang, Linyi and Changde are on sale from as low as 170 yuan ($24.46).
Passengers can purchase the discount tickets on the official sites of airlines, APPs, Chinese travel service provider Ctrip and at airport ticket offices.
Meanwhile, Ordos airport had opened several travel charter flights from Ordos to such cities as Nanyang, Linyi, Fuyang, Rizhao, Wuhan and Changde.
In addition, in order to promote the development of the cultural and tourism industries in Ordos city and attract tourists from all over the country during the summer vacations, Ordos airport has arranged discount tickets with major scenic spots.
Passengers holding arrival boarding passes from Ordos airport can enjoy free tickets or substantial discounts.
The scenic spots involved include Kangzhen, Jiucheng Palace Grassland Manhan Cultural Tourism Area, Subohan Prairie and Qixing Lake Tourist Area.
