Ordos' banners make list of China's top 100 industrial counties

A total of four banners in Ordos city, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, ranked among China's top 100 industrial counties in 2020. 

The honorees were Otog Banner, Ejin Horoo Banner, Uxin Banner and Juungar Banner.

China’s top 100 industrial counties were revealed at the China County Economy Development Forum, which was sponsored by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and was held on Nov 13 in Jiangyin city, in East China's Jiangsu province.

In 2019, the total GDP of the top 100 counties and county-level cities in China reached 9.4 trillion yuan ($1.42 trillion), contributing more than 10 percent to the national economy as a whole, and stabilizing the industrial economy in China’s counties.

Meanwhile, the level and intensity of R&D investment in the top 100 counties and county-level cities have continued to increase, accelerating the transformation of innovative achievements and increasing the number of innovation carriers and subjects.
