An Ordos wedding performance was staged in Yuquan district of Hohhot city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Feb 22.

Ordos-style weddings are a traditional folk custom in Inner Mongolia’s Ordos city, which has a history of more than 700 years.

Ordos' wedding ceremonies have evolved throughout the ages and become a precious piece of folk culture with a profound legacy. Ordos-style weddings were included on the National Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2006 by the State Council.

The wedding performance consists of the engagement, the groom's welcoming at the door, sacrificing a sheep and making a toast.

It embodies the unique nomadic, court and sacrificial cultures of Ordos and is a product of Mongolian folk culture.
