The 2021 Ordos Regatta kicked off on July 17 at Wulan Mulun Lake in Kangbashi district – in Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – lasting two days and attracting the participation of 443 players from 35 teams nationwide.

It was the third consecutive year Ordos held the event, which was sponsored by the Ordos municipal government.

To add to the fun and raise the profile of the Kangbashi district, a special Mongolian triathlon competition was also staged.

The regatta helped showcase the transformation of the city's natural water resources into economic and social resources, further encouraging rowing to take root there and promoted the upgrading of its sports industry, according to Ordos Vice-Mayor Liu Xiaofeng.
