Manufacturing leads Ordos' industrial development

In the first seven months of this year, the manufacturing sector led the development of Ordos' industrial development.
From January to July, Ordos had a total of 158 manufacturing enterprises. The added value of the city's manufacturing industries above designated size increased by 17.4 percent year-on-year, a 13.6 percent increase over 2019.
The added value of the manufacturing sector accounted for 17.1 percent of that of industries above designated size in the city.
Among the city's 20 manufacturing categories, 15 maintained year-on-year growth in added value and 11 achieved double-digit growth.
The raw material manufacturing industry grew rapidly during this period and accounted for 10.3 percent of industries above designated size, a year-on-year increase of 32.2 percent.
The consumer goods manufacturing industry grew steadily as well, with its added value above designated size increasing by 10 percent year-on-year.
The textile and apparel industries increased by 25.2 percent, while the food manufacturing industry increased by 7.6 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, high-energy-consumption manufacturing drove industrial growth.
From January to July, in addition to the non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry, the chemical raw materials and chemical products industry, the ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry, the non-metallic mineral products industry, and petroleum, coal, and other fuel processing industries maintained rapid growth.
The added value of the five high-energy-consuming industries increased by 18.7 percent.
