The Juungar Yellow River Grand Canyon Tourist Area is located in the Junngar section of the Inner Mongolia-Shanxi-Shaanxi Yellow River Grand Canyon.

It starts from Chengpo, Xuejiawan town, Juungar Banner in the city of Ordos in the north, and extends to Xiaozhan in Longkou town in the south.

Its water area is more than 80 kilometers long, and the narrowest part of the river in the canyon is just 50 meters wide, making it the narrowest part of the Yellow River.

The Juungar canyon is recognized as one of the 10 most beautiful canyons in China.

The tourist area features beautiful canyon landforms, water facilities, and ancient buildings.

Baozita, Chengpo Ancient Town, and Wanjiazhai Reservoir are among the most famous sightseeing spots in the tourist area.

The ancient Baozita is located in the center of Wanjiazhai Reservoir Area and is surrounded by water. Its name comes from its resemblance to a steamed bun inlaid on the edge of the Yellow River.

Baozita is lined with boulders, steep cliffs, and mountain roads winding on the ridge. Cuicheng village, with intact walls, gates, and stone houses, sits on Baozita.

The Chengpo Ancient Town was built in the Western Xia Dynasty (1038-1227). It is a military town of Jinsu Prefecture with dangerous terrain and many cultural relics.

Meanwhile, the Wanjiazhai Reservoir turns the rushing Yellow River water into a calm lake. Cliffs rise on both sides of the river banks.

By climbing up to the tai chi bay sightseeing platform, tourists will have the opportunity to admire a 360-degree turn in the Yellow River.
