In the first three quarters of this year, the economy in the farming and pastoral areas of Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, continued to grow steadily, laying a solid foundation for regional economic development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

Meanwhile, the city's eight banners built 28 refrigerated and fresh-keeping facilities, increasing the storage capacity for agricultural and livestock products by more than 10,000 tons.

Ordos has also established 666 cashmere goat and 150 fine-wool sheep demonstration pastures, built seven large pastures, and upgraded 38 dairy farms and dairy farmer cooperatives.

Since the beginning of this year, the city has allocated 1.95 billion yuan ($292.57 million) of special funds for finance at the central, autonomous region and city levels, a year-on-year increase of 3.3 percent.

Ordos has also initiated the development of regional agricultural brands, with 37 newly recognized as green and organic products, and 34 characteristic agricultural items listed as "National Brand, Special and Excellent New Agricultural Products. "

From January to September, the per capita disposable income of farmers and herdsmen in Ordos reached 155.64 million yuan, representing an annual increase of 10.9 percent. The growth rate was 1.9 percentage points higher than that of urban residents.
