Ordos filled with flowery fragrance as peony festival approaches

The sweet smell of tens of thousands of flowers is filling the air as the eleventh Ordos Peony Cultural Tourism Festival approaches. It will be held on May 19 at the Ordos Wedding Culture Park in the Kangbashi district of Ordos, a city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to the organizers.

Mid-May is the best time to view the park's common peonies and Chinese herbaceous peonies. Its peony gardens, which are home to 36,000 common peonies and 45,000 Chinese herbaceous peonies in total, are said to have among the most numerous and varied peony flowers in northwestern China.
