During this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 3 to 5, the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was a popular tourist destination.

Over a three-day period, a total of 504,600 trips were made to Ordos, generating a total of 128 million yuan ($19.20 million) in tourism revenue.

During the holiday, traditional activities, such as hanging wormwood, dragon boat racing, wrapping zongzi and making sachets were held to preserve such traditions and pass them down to future generations.

The major scenic spots in Ordos, including the Juungar Yellow River Grand Canyon, Resonant Sand Bay and Ordos Wildlife Park, also launched festive activities for tourists.

In addition to the 10-million-yuan consumption coupons previously launched by the city to boost the consumer market, Ordos has launched another 1 million yuan in subsidies for scenic spot tickets, dining, accommodation and souvenirs.
