Ordos enterprises granted 41.99m yuan as R&D subsidy

A total of 115 enterprises in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region will obtain 41.99 million yuan ($6.30 million) in subsidies for technological research and development.
The move is meant to encourage enterprises to continue to increase awareness of scientific and technological innovation and investment in science and technology.
Ordos ranks first among cities and leagues in Inner Mongolia in terms of the total amount of grants.
Since 2021, Ordos has been striving to build a technological innovation policy system in a bid to boost the cultivation of high-tech enterprises and improve their innovative capacity.
By the end of 2021, Ordos was home to 170 high-tech enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 29 percent. It also had 170 small and medium-sized enterprises entering the national technology enterprise library, an increase of 53 percent compared with 2020.
In 2021, the R&D expenses of the city's enterprises above designated size were reported at 6.48 billion yuan, while total R&D investment increased 127 percent compared with 2020.
