Ordos three-year talent plan revealed

The city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently launched a three-year action plan on introducing talent and boosting scientific and technological innovation.

According to the plan, by 2025, Ordos strives to introduce and cultivate about 50 high-level innovation and entrepreneurship teams with key core technologies and independent intellectual property rights, and introduce more than 1,000 high-end talents in short supply and over 10,000 outstanding young talents with strong development potential.

By then, the total amount of human resources in the city should exceed 600,000, with high-level talent accounting for more than 10 percent, and highly-skilled talent accounting for more than 35 percent of all skilled workers.

Meanwhile, the total number of high-tech enterprises in Ordos is expected to exceed 300, and that of research institutions above autonomous region level is expected to exceed 280.

Ordos will also be home to four national-level key laboratories, engineering laboratories and engineering technology research centers.

Additionally, by 2025, Ordos is expected to have 80 R&D personnel per 10,000 employees and 10 invention patents per 10,000 people.

Moreover, the average investment in scientific and technological innovation in all banners and districts in the city will reach 1 billion yuan, and city-level scientific and technological innovation investment will exceed 10 billion yuan.

Investment in high-tech industries of enterprises in the city is expected to reach 100 billion yuan, and investment in overall research and development is expected to account for more than 2.5 percent of the city’s GDP.
