Ordos' foreign trade growth rate ranks first in H1

In the first half of this year, the foreign trade of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region achieved positive growth every month, with its growth rate ranking first among cities and leagues in the region.

Statistics from Ordos customs show that from January to June, the foreign trade value of Ordos city reached 7.55 billion yuan ($1.13 billion), a year-on-year increase of 172.2 percent.

The growth rate was 154.9 percentage points higher than that of Inner Mongolia and accounted for 11.1 percent of the regional total.

Exports were valued at 5.38 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 187.3 percent, while imports were valued at 2.17 billion yuan, an increase of 140.9 percent compared with the same period last year.

Private enterprises led Ordos in terms of imports and exports.

In the first six months of this year, the foreign trade value of private enterprises in the jurisdiction of Ordos was 3.24 billion yuan, accounting for 42.9 percent of the city's total and increasing the city's import and export growth by 108.9 percentage points.

The import and export value of State-owned enterprises and wholly foreign-owned enterprises also increased significantly.

In terms of trade, Ordos saw strong results in processing trade, and its bonded logistics grew significantly.

In the first half of this year, the import and export value of bonded logistics goods in Ordos reached 585,000 yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 1,112.2 percent.

In the same period, the city's foreign trade market was more stable. China's Taiwan province, Vietnam and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region were its top three trading partners.

In addition, the value of imports and exports between Ordos and RCEP member countries was 2.40 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 112 percent, and that to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative was 2.79 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 183.3 percent.
