The city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was granted the honorable title of "China's Cashmere Capital" by the China Animal By-Products Marketing Association.
It was announced at the 5th China Ordos International Cashmere and Wool Exhibition, which was held in the city's Dongsheng district on Aug 19-21.
This year's exhibition covered a total of 20,000 square meters and consisted of 10 exhibition areas and 384 exhibition booths.
During the exhibition, a total of 128 well-known exhibitors and 226 buyers were invited. A series of activities such as industry exhibitions, summit forums, online cloud exhibitions and e-commerce marketing were held, providing an economic and trade cooperation platform for global enterprises in the wool and cashmere industries.
Unlike previous events, this year's exhibition featured a special area set up for Yak wool.
It aimed to promote exchange and cooperation in the Yak wool industry among different regions and create a global collection center for Yak wool raw materials in Ordos.
Since 2018, the China (Ordos) International Cashmere and Wool Exhibition has been held five times, providing an effective platform for the Chinese and foreign cashmere industries to enhance exchanges, expand cooperation, and promote the high-quality development of local characteristic industries.
Over the past five years, more than 2,000 domestic and foreign buyers and over 1,200 exhibitors have participated in the exhibition, with a total of nearly 2 billion yuan in trade being achieved at the exhibitions.
