The city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was recently granted the honorable title of China Investment Hotspot Cities.

It was announced at the 22nd China International Fair for Investment and Trade, or CIFIT, that kicked off in the city of Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on Sept 8.

That same day, the organizing committee of the CIFIT and Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) jointly released the China Investment Hotspot Cities report and held an award ceremony.

A total of 18 cities were selected as China Investment Hotspot Cities this year, while Ordos was the only city or league in Inner Mongolia to obtain such an honor.

Zhang Lijun, PwC China regional economic and financial leader, who is responsible for compiling the report, said that the report showcases a city's image, investment environment and potential business opportunities at multiple levels, helping the city build its brand, realize industry-targeted investment promotion, and serving as a model for cities, industries and talent.

At this year's CIFIT, Ordos opened an exhibition booth with seven sections.

It fully demonstrates the city's high-quality investment environment and high-quality development achievements and its exhibits involve new energy, the coal chemical industry, domestic innovative drugs, the characteristic cultural creativity and agricultural products.
