A total of three projects from the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region were recently selected by the General Administration of Sports to be on a national list of excellent sports tourism projects for 2022.

The projects that made it onto the national list were: The Ordos Racing Town Culture and Tourism Zone, the Ordos Racing Town Sports Tourism and Leisure Route, and the Genghis Khan Grand Prix. 

The promotion of excellent sports tourism projects aims to create representative and influential sports tourism scenic spots, tourist routes, sports events and tourism destinations domestically. The goal is to increase the in-depth integration of sports and tourism and expand the supply of sports and the tourism market.

The list includes 202 excellent sports tourism projects across the country – of which 66 are scenic spots, 40 are tourist routes, 72 are sports events and 24 are tourism destinations.
