"Ordos", the world's first painted aircraft with the theme "green grassland", was officially unveiled at the Ordos Ejin Horoo International Airport in the city of Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Jan 7.

The "Ordos" is a Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft, and is the first painted aircraft jointly named by the Ordos municipal government and China United Airlines. The overall design of the painting is colorful and full of characteristic Ordos elements.

The front of the fuselage is a creative fusion of a strong Albashi white goat and agriculture-related elements such as seabuckthorn and sour apricot.

The rear end of the fuselage integrates many Ordos elements such as Mongolian white horses, Malan flowers, and yurts.

The main color of the fuselage adopts the green grassland system, and conveys the image of a leisurely, quiet and robust grassland to the world. It also shows the high-quality green development of Ordos city.

The aircraft will fly a number of domestic city routes, fully displaying the image of Ordos.

On the same day, China United Airlines' Ordos operation base was also established.

It is reported that the Ordos airport is a 4E-level regional airport, which became officially operational in July 2007.

So far, it has opened routes to 98 domestic and foreign cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Haikou and Chengdu, with a cumulative passenger throughput of 22 million.

Since China United Airlines started operating in Ordos in 2007, its cumulative passenger throughput has exceeded 6.06 million. Ordos has become an important support point in the northern region of China United Airlines' route network layout.
