The development of the industrial economy in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region achieved remarkable results last year.

Statistics from the city show that in 2022, Ordos implemented 160 industrial projects each worth more than 100 million yuan ($14.27 million). The planned investment for that year was 57.72 billion yuan, though the city reached a total investment of 281.89 billion yuan.  

In 2022, the city also implemented 95 manufacturing projects each worth more than 100 million yuan, with a total investment of 155.76 billion yuan.

The industrial investment structure for Ordos was further optimized, and the planned investment for 2022 was 24.32 billion yuan. 60 percent of that amount was allocated to projects focusing on new energy equipment, new materials, and the new chemical industries.

During the same period, great efforts have been made by Ordos to improve the quality and efficiency of industrial technological transformation, and promote the optimization and upgrading of traditional industries.

In 2022, the city implemented 31 industrial technological transformation projects each worth more than 100 million yuan, with a total investment of 13.97 billion yuan, and the planned investment totaling 7.83 billion yuan.

Moreover, in 2022, Ordos planned to complete and put into operation 40 key industrial projects each with an investment of more than 100 million yuan.

The planned investment in that year was 15.96 billion yuan, and the city went above this target by 25 percent, to a total of 19.96 billion yuan in investment.

In recent years, Ordos has attached great importance to pushing forward the high-end development of its industries.

In 2022, the city promoted the construction of industrial clusters in fields such as modern equipment manufacturing, new chemical industry, new materials, agricultural and livestock product processing, and high-end biomedicine.

Ordos compiled and issued the "Implementation Opinions on High-end, Intelligent and Green Development of Ordos' Manufacturing Industry" and the "2022 Action Plan for High-end, Intelligent and Green Development of Ordos Manufacturing Industry".

It also drafted and completed the "Building a World-Class New Energy Industry in Ordos Implementation Plan", and the "Research on the High-Quality Development of Ordos Chemical Industry under the 'Double Carbon' Goal".
