Ordos' GDP hits 561.34b yuan in 2022

In 2022, the total economic volume of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region reached new heights.

The city's GDP hit 561.34 billion yuan ($83.78 billion) last year, a year-on-year increase of 5.4 percent.

The added value of the city's primary industry was 19.50 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.0 percent; the added value of secondary industry was 386.64 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.9 percent; and the added value of tertiary industry was 155.21 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.7 percent.

The added value of the three industries accounted for 3.5 percent, 68.9 percent and 27.6 percent of city's GDP, respectively.

Compared with the previous year, the proportion of primary industry increased by 0.3 percentage points; the proportion of secondary industry increased by 2.5 percentage points; and the proportion of tertiary industry decreased by 2.8 percentage points.

Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishing in Ordos also showed strong growth.

The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishing increased by 6.8 percent; and their total added value increased by 6.2 percent year-on-year, driving GDP growth by 0.2 percentage points.

Meanwhile, industrial production in Ordos showed strong resilience. The added value of the industry increased by 7.1 percent year-on-year, driving GDP growth by 3.7 percentage points.

In addition, in 2022, the banners and districts in the jurisdiction of Ordos achieved coordinated development. The GDP of Ejin Horoo Banner reached 100 billion yuan in 2022, after the GDP of Juungar Banner exceeded the benchmark in 2021.

The GDP of Juungar Banner and Ejin Horoo Banner reached 130.01 billion yuan and 121.92 billion yuan, respectively, accounting for 23.2 percent and 21.7 percent of the city's GDP.

The GDP growth rates of Otog Front Banner, Uxin Banner, Ejin Horoo Banner and Otog Banner were greater than or equal to that of the city as a whole, and the four banners together drove the city's GDP growth by 3.1 percentage points.

In terms of contribution rate, Ejin Horoo Banner and Juungar Banner contributed 24.0 percent and 20.3 percent to the city's GDP, respectively; while Uxin Banner, Otog Banner and Otog Front Banner accounted for 12.4 percent, 10.9 percent and 10.8 percent, respectively.
