A series of key projects in Juungar Banner in the city of Ordos, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is now under rapid construction.
A project invested by the Inner Mongolia Guojihua Food Technology Co., Ltd is a good example of the banner's project construction progress.
As a new member of the forest and fruit industry, the project will receive a total investment of 230 million yuan ($33.09 million). The project will be divided into four phases of construction.
When it is put into production, it will plant and cultivate sea buckthorn fruit, eucalyptus, and other local fruits. Then the produce will go through processing to become pure fruit juice or other beverages, or will go through deep processing to become sea buckthorn seed oil extract, sea buckthorn vinegar, and fruit vinegar.
When the project is fully completed and put into production, it can realize an annual tax payment of 10 million yuan, provide 180 jobs, and help 1,850 farmers and herdsmen increase their income.
The first phase of the project is about to be completed and put into operation. This refers mainly to the three production lines that will reach an annual output of 10,000 metric tons of sea buckthorn puree, an annual output of 30,000 tons of fruit juice, and an annual output of 30,000 tons of carbonated drinks.
According to Yun Tiezhu, general manager of Inner Mongolia Guojihua Food Technology Co, the production equipment for the production lines is currently being installed. The construction of the project’s pre-treatment workshop, canning workshop, blending workshop, sterilization workshop, and packaging workshop is also near completion.
The project will enter its equipment debugging period in May, and plans to conduct trial production in June. It will strive to launch its products from July to August, Yun added.
In order to ensure the supply of raw materials and increase the income of local farmers, the company has cooperated with the collective economy of Fulu village to build a fruit tree planting base.
Plans are for the base to build a 1,000-mu orchard and plant various local fruit trees such as apple, peach and sea buckthorn trees.
