Ordos Museum in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was recently included on the list of the most innovative museums in China in 2023.
The Ordos Museum is one of the two museums from Inner Mongolia to make the list.
This museum is both first-class as well as innovative, as it integrates cultural display, tourism, leisure, education, and scientific research.
Designed in the shape of a weathered boulder or a yurt, the Ordos Museum, which was opened in 2012, features a convergence of naturalistic interiors bathed in light. The result is a timeless piece of architecture in a modern and dynamic city.
The museum carries out academic research, innovative practices, and integration development in such fields as foreign exchanges, original exhibitions, short video IP, education, technology, tourism and media.
It successfully held an exhibition for Ordos' Bronze Artifacts in the Sichuan Sanxingdui Museum in Southwest China's Sichuan province, and created a short video entitled "China in Cultural Relics - The Yellow River", which was widely praised at home and abroad.
In terms of extended education, the museum has enhanced its diversified service capabilities, carried out a number of social education activities, and continuously improved the humanistic and scientific literacy of the general public.
