A nameplate unveiling ceremony for Ordos Workers' Technology College was held in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on April 25.
Ma Jianfeng, secretary of the Party committee of Ordos Vocational College, said that the newly-established college will take the initiative to meet the needs of industrial development in Ordos. It will serve Ordos' industrial workers by providing a platform for them to improve their skills, literacy and academic qualifications through various forms, including vocational skills training, grade certification training, internet + lectures, and open schooling.

The establishment of this college will provide strong talent and technological support that will boost the high-quality economic and social development of Ordos and even the whole region.
Statistics from the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for Talent Development in Ordos City show that by the end of 2020, the total number of talents in the city reached 438,000.
Of that total, 129,000 were enterprise management talents, 162,900 were professional and technical talents, 48,000 were highly-skilled talents, 74,600 were talents in rural and pastoral areas, and 8,600 were social work talents.
