The industrial wastewater treatment plant and water resource recycling project in the Ordos Zero-carbon Industrial Park has now entered the final phase of water testing.

Construction work is being undertaken by Shanghai Civil Engineering Co of CREC.

Workers are racing against time to carry out full water tests, anti-corrosion treatments for the tanks, installation of equipment, and other necessary tasks, in order to ensure that the project is put into operation by the end of the year.

The project is located in the Sumeng Economic Development Zone in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

It covers an area of 487 mu (32.47 hectares) and is based on a total investment of 2.22 billion yuan ($319.42 million).

It is designed to have a daily processing capacity of 100,000 metric tons of industrial wastewater, and is currently the largest zero-emission project for photovoltaic industrial wastewater treatment in China, with the highest standards for recycled water.

Once completed, the project will effectively collect and treat the industrial wastewater discharged by enterprises.

After being classified and processed, the recycled water will be reused in the production process, achieving the goal of water-resource recycling. This is expected to greatly promote high-quality regional economic development.
