Ordos sees tourism thrive during Dragon Boat Festival

During the three-day Dragon Boat Festival, the city of Ordos welcomed 844,500 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 75.34 percent.
The total tourism revenue generated during the period reached 1.97 billion yuan ($281.03 million), up 15.34-fold from 2022.
The 40 national A-level tourist attractions in the city received 487,200 tourist visits, achieving an operating revenue of 51.31 million yuan, up 272.48 percent and 474.26 percent from 2022, respectively.
This marked a new record for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.

Self-driving tours, family trips, suburban excursions, and rural tourism have become mainstream travel options. Rural tourism sites, large-scale cultural tourism complexes, and homestays have become popular vacation options, and new forms of outdoor leisure consumption, represented by camping, have been in high demand among the public.
During the festival, various public cultural service institutions and scenic spots launched colorful cultural activities. Traditional attractions such as Resonant Sand Bay, the Ordos Grassland, Qixing Lake, and the Juungar Grand Canyon launched branded activities and offered discounted ticket prices and new projects.
