A total of five banners in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region have made the list of the top 100 counties in Western China.

That's according to a report released by the county economy research center affiliated to CCID Consulting Co, a subsidiary of the China Center for Information Industry Development, on Nov 14.

The five Ordos banners are Juungar, Ejin Horoo, Otog, Uxin, and Dalad. They were ranked 3rd, 4th, 17th, 29th and 40th, respectively.

The research report focuses on the high-quality economic development of counties in Western China.

In accordance with the economic development characteristics of the western areas at the current stage, the research evaluates the counties according to four metrics: economic strength, growth potential, prosperity, and environmental sustainability, forming a well-rounded evaluation system.
