A total of 15 projects from the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia were awarded the Science and Technology Progress Awards at the autonomous region level.

It was announced at the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Science and Technology Award Conference, held in its capital, Hohhot, on Dec 4.

Among the prize-winning projects were one first-class award and 14 second-class awards, achieving year-on-year growth of 13.3 percent.

Of all the winning projects, 12 were nominated by the Ordos municipal government, ranking first among the selected projects in the region's cities and banners. The number of awards broke a new historical record.
