In 2023, the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region made significant strides in advancing healthcare system reforms and enhancing medical services.

To promote the construction of closely-knit county-level medical communities, the city implemented pilot programs in Juungar Banner, Uxin Banner, Dalad Banner, Hanggin Banner, and Otog Front Banner. This resulted in the further standardization and homogenization of medical services within the counties.

Meanwhile, Ordos consolidated and deepened its cooperation projects with Beijing, focusing on supporting five district-level hospitals. This initiative aimed to bring high-quality medical resources to the grassroots level.

Moreover, efforts were made to establish and improve family doctor services, with 669 family doctor teams formed.

Elsewhere, Ordos has improved the service level for key populations in 2023.

A sound elderly medical service system was established, with 100 percent of secondary-level and above public hospitals offering geriatrics departments. The establishment rate of fast channels for elderly patients seeking medical treatment also reached 100 percent.

Collaborative relationships were established between 60 medical institutions and nursing homes, with a signing rate of 96.7 percent.

The "green channel" medical treatment for families with special circumstances and the signing rate for family doctor services have both reached 100 percent in the city.

Additionally, in 2023, Ordos adhered to the strategy of attracting and cultivating talent while promoting high-level openness and cooperation in the field of health.

Efforts have also been made to strengthen cooperation with high-level talent teams from outside the city.

Over 400 experts and teams from outside Ordos were introduced to local medical institutions.

By establishing "Academician Workstations", "Renowned Physician Studios", and special health alliances, the city has managed to establish collaborations with renowned domestic experts, academicians, and experienced traditional Chinese medicine practitioners.

These collaborations enabled these experts to provide medical consultations, surgeries, and teaching services in Ordos, bringing more high-quality medical services to the local residents.
