The agricultural demonstration zone project that is located along the Yellow River in Hanggin Banner, Ordos city, recently resumed construction. This project is known as China's first zero-carbon food industrial park.

With a total investment of about 3.9 billion yuan ($534.25 million), the project primarily focuses on land transfer, creating 200,000 mu (about 13,333.33 hectares) of high-standard farmland, and establishing a potato starch industrial park.

The project is divided into two phases. The first phase aims to complete the transfer of 70,000 mu of arable land and establish high-standard farmland for potato cultivation by the end of 2024.

The second phase, to be completed by 2028, involves the transfer of 130,000 mu of arable land and the establishment of high-standard farmland.

Adhering to the requirements of national zero-carbon industrial construction, the project will be built with a focus on clean energy supply, zero-carbon emissions, and resource recycling.

Once completed, this project is expected to achieve an annual production of 60,000 metric tons of potato starch, with an annual output value of approximately 1.2 billion yuan.

This will contribute around 186 million yuan in local tax revenue, create job opportunities for over 300 people, and lay a solid foundation for advancing the high-quality development of modern agriculture in Hanggin Banner.
