Recently, China's first hydrogen-powered shunting locomotive successfully completed trial operation on the Bazhun Line of the Xinshuo Railway.

This high-powered locomotive, powered by hydrogen, maintained a constant speed for two kilometers, consuming 40 kilograms of hydrogen fuel to complete the 10,000-metric-ton loading task in 165 minutes.

This achievement marks a crucial breakthrough in the market application of hydrogen-powered equipment for heavy-duty railways in China, as it validated the shunting locomotive's full-scale and multi-level performance.

With this successful trial, the second phase of testing for China's first hydrogen-powered shunting locomotive has been completed.

This milestone not only represents a significant step toward achieving China's "dual-carbon" goals, but also accelerates the green transformation of production methods in heavy-duty railways.

Furthermore, this success further propels the transition of hydrogen-powered locomotives from experimental to practical application in heavy-duty railway operations. It will also provide technological support for the rapid formation of new quality productive forces in China's heavy-duty railway power equipment sector.
