The unveiling ceremony of an international drone base took place in the Otog Banner of Ordos on May 28, signaling another solid step forward in Ordos' vigorous pursuit of the "new track" in the low-altitude economy.

The base is significant for the city's civil aviation industrial layout and was established through collaboration between Otog Banner General Airport and China Rongtong Security International Group.

It integrates unmanned aerial vehicle examination centers and testing facilities and focuses on a wide range of activities including multi-spectrum drone training, certification exams, validation, and test flights of large drones and their subsystems.

This base is Ordos's first comprehensive operational support center for drone systems.

In the long term, plans are in place to build a drone training center capable of conducting exercises involving large drones or drone swarms.
