The 5G factory project of Mengfa Energy Holding Group in Ordos city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has been featured in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's recently announced 2024 5G Factory Directory.
Six enterprises from Inner Mongolia have been included in the directory to date, four of which are based in Ordos.
The Mengfa Energy 5G factory project, a collaboration with China Mobile at the Wotugou Coal Mine, aims to create smart mining operations.
This initiative involves constructing a high-speed network, a central platform, cloud storage, and multiple front-end applications to achieve minimal human presence in key scenarios and full automation in general scenarios.
The mining area and underground regions currently have full 5G network coverage. An edge node cloud with 610 VCPUs and 240 TB of storage has also been established.
Its OnePower Smart Mining platform features personnel monitoring, vehicle positioning, and unmanned equipment operation, as well as data visualization and AI-driven big data analysis.
The project provides 5G-based coal flow detection, GIS 3D mapping, unmanned chamber monitoring, vehicle and personnel tracking, and smart park management, significantly reducing operational costs and safety risks.
