The first county-level "zero planned power outage" demonstration zone in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was unveiled on Nov 12 in Ordos city.
"Zero planned power outage" refers to the execution of projects that traditionally required power outages but can now be completed without interrupting the power supply, ensuring that users experience "zero perception" of power disruptions.
The demonstration zone covers approximately 1,860 square kilometers. It includes the industrial sector of the Ordos equipment manufacturing base, the commercial sector encompassing the Ordos Wild Zoo, the Jiucheng Palace Grassland Manhan Cultural and Tourism Area, and urban and rural residential areas. This initiative will benefit 100,000 households and 1,700 enterprises.
The Ordos Dongsheng Tiexi Power Supply Company of Inner Mongolia Power Group began constructing the demonstration zone earlier this year.
The company optimized the grid framework by comprehensively considering grid structure, operational methods, equipment status, and load growth. The project involved the construction and renovation of 23 10kV lines, forming a network supplied by three 220kV substations, nine 110kV substations, and five 35kV substations, with 111 interconnected 10kV lines.
This has resulted in a 76.74 percent coverage rate of distribution automation for 10kV lines within the demonstration zone, significantly enhancing the power grid structure and laying a solid foundation for the "zero planned power outage" initiative.
Completing this demonstration zone greatly improves the reliability, quality, and technical standards of power supply services, providing robust support for regional economic development.
